Public Speaker
I regularly speak publicly in my community to encourage proactive maintenance of Mental health.
I love to read and learn about new ways to think and different ways to live.
Education
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (and a minor in German, don’t forget that!) from Purdue University in 2002.
I graduated with my Master of Social Work with a concentration in mental health and addictions from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 2013.
While I was in school, I was surrounded by talented and gifted clinicians and colleagues who greatly complimented the quality of my education. Since then, I’ve had specialty trainings in Somatic Experience, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Hypnosis, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I’m also proficient in Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy as well as mindfulness practice.
Experience
I’ve worked in social services since 2005 and mental health since 2007.
My first social work style experience was with the County of Riverside in California as an Entitlement Specialist and later as a Social Service Worker. From 2007 to 2013, I worked as a case manager and then as a team leader with Wabash Valley Alliance (now Valley Oaks).
While in school, I had my first internship working with the veteran population at Indiana Veterans’ Home located in Lafayette, Indiana. My second specialization internship involved working with the Community Support Program in Lafayette, Indiana.
In 2018, I finally decided to leave group practice to start my own private practice that specializes in depression and anxiety treatment. In early 2020, I finally saw my dream of serving the community through my private practice come true.
